Symbols of Liberty

With all of the turmoil and conflict in our world today, with all of the political rhetoric and the thrust and parry of opinions that bombard us in our social medias, we sometimes overlook the fact that the liberties and freedoms that allow such debate and opportunity of expression came to us at a high price. Many times in our nation’s history have our forefathers had to overcome the many choices available and fight for the ones they believed to be right and true.

I truly believe that our fathers were inspired and given divine direction as they formed this new nation. It has become the standard of freedom in our world today.

I am humbled by the memory of those who have come before and sacrificed so much for us … who have protected our way of life and the liberty that sets us free.

I thank those who protect us today. I pray for them and for their families. We celebrate all that is good, and pray for wisdom to carry on this legacy of liberty.
