Description of Scout Lake

This past summer, I spent some time with our local Boy Scout troop camping at Camp Steiner, the highest elevation BSA camp in the world (about 10,400 feet in elevation). This was our view each morning from the north end of Scout Lake. I took my travel painting kit with me and was able to paint “en plein air” this scene before the scouts woke up.

I have spent a lifetime in these mountains, beginning in my boyhood with my dad, and continuing into my geezerhood with my grandchildren. I love being at elevation in the majestic mountains.
