Quetzal

I served as a missionary for our church in the beautiful country of Guatemala. The Quetzal is their National Bird. It lives in the many forests around Latin America and simply cannot live in captivity, no matter how hard they have tried. Therefore, it stands for freedom down there. I have always wanted to paint this beautiful and unique bird … I finally got it done! I used a textured canvas that I did with gesso before applying my paint. Very fun … enjoy!
