Mama beside me

While traveling this past Fall, I found myself among these beautiful ranches, and fell in love with this little foal. He was playful but cautious. Each time I tried to approach him he ran and hid behind mama. I decided to give in and just paint him like this rather than all by himself. I was reminded of the Dan Fogelberg song about a young horse. Dan’s phrase “mama beside him” came to mind …
